Looking for dark themed mystery suspense. Perhaps very detail and atmosphere oriented?
I'm more of a movie person, and somewhat recently getting into the world of novels as movies don't scratch that itch anymore.
Example movies:
Memories of Murder, Seven, Prisoners, True Detective
It has that, suspense, dark, moody and rainy atmosphere. Those who have seen the above know exactly what I'm referring to. Kind of a dead/cold case, or almost unsolvable and or unpredictable. With characters that are actually well written with motives and drives.
Books that come to mind: Girl with the dragon tattoo, gone girl, silent patient.
