I need some recommendations for fall! Some things I’m looking for:
    – I am not a huge fan of smut/romance, and also not a fan of science fiction
    – I love the classics (Austen, Dickens, etc.) but looking for something a little more “light” or easier to read at the moment
    – I love books with great world building and really suck you in that way
    – I just read Coraline and loved it and would be open to something similar in length/topic!
    – Like historical fiction but very tired of WW2 books set in Europe…..
    – Big fan of witches but was bored with the Practical Magic series
    – I need something that isn’t a slow burn, I’ve DNFd too many books recently and want one that will peak my interest longer!

    1. Have you tried the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness? The first book is A Discovery of Witches.

It starts modern with witches, vampires and other creatures. It talks about alchemy, biology and history.

If you like historical fiction I’d consider Possession by AS Byatt. Also check out Kate Atkinson. Both give me autumn vibes!
