Searching for some good Non fiction war books, as well as some good Biographies on famous people in history

I am a bit tired of going to the library and finding books that Look interesting that turn up being the most boring reads ever.

I understand that by principle, many books in these genres are tough reads. However I’m looking for some great books that are a little more interesting.

All suggestions are appreciated.
