I'm really interested in books that toe the line and keep the reader guessing if there's a rational explanation or if something spooky is going on. I'd prefer if the main character was investigating the mystery and not just experiencing it, if that makes sense. There's a spectrum to the spookiness but I'd be happy with anything that falls between realistic mystery and "magic/supernatural creatures are real as a given". Adult fiction only please!
