I just read Dean Koontz’s *Intensity* and I absolutely loved it and want to explore the thriller/horror genre. However, I don’t know my limits so if I could get some beginner friendly horror books that would be great. Also, I should note that I have never read a Stephen King book so let me know which one I should start with.

{{Watchers by Dean Koontz}} is probably his most famous. It was the first one I read of his. I also really liked {{Tick Tock by Dean Koontz}}, it’s fast paced like Intensity. I don’t remember ever having to sleep with the lights on after any Koontz book so I think you’re safe if you want to stick with him for a bit.
The first Stephen King book I read was ‘The Dead Zone’.
It’s about a man who had a terrible accident and ends up in a coma for many years ( I can’t remember how many). When he wakes up, he has a new ability: whenever he touches someone he experiences visions.
Another by Ayatsuji Yukito is good for a beginner. People tend to describe it as Japanese Final Destination.
