Looking for lots of action, great characters, humour, and generally books that are going to keep me up past my bedtime. Particularly anything space related (but open to anything)
Ones I've really enjoyed recently – The Fifth Science (read twice), Project Hail Mary (read twice), Children of Time (loved but couldn't get into the second one).
I've read the first 3 Mistborn books, i only really enjoyed the first one though. The society was too patriarchal for me. For that reason didnt get v far on Way of The Kings. So nothing along those lines for me. Or really anything steampunky
Altho I did read the main Kingkiller Chronicles books years ago which were great.
Also I do enjoy a bit of trash and am looking forward to Rebecca Yorros's next installment.
I tend to flip between real world 'complicated people' stuff (Demon Copperhead, The Paper Palace, Shuggie Bain) and sci-fi fantasy stuff, So also open to anything that blends the two!
My fave book of all time is Watership Down which Ive probably read about 15 times, and everytime I read it the second act is always a nail biter! So that might give some guidance too.
Also tried the 3 Body Problem but got bored with all the video game/immersive world stuff.
Thanks gang!
