I'm planning to build a 4000 sqft house on a 5000 sqft property. I won't build it myself but will take help from contractors and architects. However, I want to be involved in the process and suggest ideas, cross question the architects contractors so that they don't do lazy job. I'm an electrical engineer by education, software engineer by profession.
Suggest me two books.
1. Book that helps with basic architectural considerations with recommendations for tropical coastal climate. What's the current trend etc.
2. book that considers local cultural preferences, environment and practices. I'm from Chennai, South India.
