The fees structure of universities in all major Anglophone countries (Can, Aus, UK, US) simply cannot support people studying literature. It’s too economically suicidal for all but the most wealthy students.

Coming from a newspaper, and I use the term loosely, that has worked with determination to take as much joy out of literature, culture and education as possible, this is somewhat ironic.
Perhaps we can put our heads together and find a way to “problematise” this article and then we can bore some students with the tower of bitter nonsense we have created. It’ll be a blast. They’ll love it.
