After mom died, dad got more into reading. When I was young, he went through a phase of reading "important documents" like the constitution, karl marx, even Darwin. I'm moved out so I haven't seen him in years, but his tastes have changed a lot.
He wants a book for xmas. I asked what genre and he said "any novel, really" and the last book he read was "How to Stop Time" by Matt Haig, and he really liked it. Our family has always been into sci-fi, and he expressed an interest in getting more into the classics, like how he has never read Catcher in the Rye in school.
How do I pick something he would really like?
