*Killers of the Flower Moon* is still on my to-see list.
But Tony Hillerman wrote a whole series of fiction featuring Navajo Tribal Police detective work. I’ve read *Talking God* and *A Thief of Time* and can recommend them. He’s also written some non-fic.
Hillerman himself is of German and English descent, though, not Native American. But neither is Scorsese.
