I am looking for life-changing book that have greatly impacted you as a person. Books that can make you say that you have genuinely learned something important. I am interested in philosophy, particular ancient philosophy and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Do feel free to post books of a philosophic nature, though they can be fiction/non-fiction/memoirs/pretty much anything etc.

The Overstory by Richard Powers
The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson
I really loved Educated by Tara Westover. Not only is the writing very intelligent, there are so many lessons and morals in this beautiful, yet harrowing account of a young girls life, growing up in a survivalist home.
Not to give away any synopsis of the following books but these all made an impact on me at different times in my life in no order:
Flowers For Algernon,
Tuesdays With Morrie,
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck,
Brave New World,
The Corrections,
Invisible Man,
White Teeth.
Just to name a few. IMO, if youre looking for a life-changing book, it won’t impact you as much as if you stumbled across it and read it. I believe that the book will find you and impact you when it’s time. It’s similar to if I’m looking for anything specific in life; it truly finds me when the timing is right. I wish you well on your search!
