I'm a 15 year old boy, who in the last year and a half has read LoTR Fellowship of the Ring, Dune, the Silmarillion (half on paper half on audio-book), Three Body Problem, Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Dune messiah, and am currently reading Children of Dune. I am interested in getting into dark fantasy, and would like a book similar to these, and due to that am considering reading The Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire book #1.) What are your thoughts on this choice, and do you have any other recommendations for me?

Game of Thrones is great. Highly recommend it.
The Name of the Wind isn’t bad, although it’s a slow first 200 pages.
If you want finished series, Art of the Adept is excellent.
