I love reading these threads and find myself putting holds on so many titles. The problem is that they are never immediately available to read at the library. So suggest me a book that’s awesome but you think would be available. Maybe it’s a few years old or just was never super popular.
I love a good thriller or detective novel. I also love fantasy(but not high fantasy) and can definitely dabble with sci-fi.

How about [Fortune Favors the Dead](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/eb8c7ae9-41b0-442b-b3f1-8e01870fe219) by Stephan Spotswood?
Just read Annihilation (Netflix movie). My library had no wait for it. Also, Bright Young Women had no queue. Chain Gang Allstars had no queue. And The Trees by Percival Everett (altho that might have changed after the success of James)
River of Darkness by Rennie Airth
Dark of the Moon by John Sandford. (Any of the Virgil Flowers novels)
The Devil’s Teardrop by Jeffrey Deaver
11/2/63 by Stephen King?
On Libby I can browse by “available now” and can always find great stuff. Good luck!
In my experience, Agatha Christie is always available as they have a ton of copies.
One of my recent favorite reads is Andrew Wilson’s detective / historical fiction that follows Agatha Christie as a detective! *A Talent For Murder* is the first book in the series.
Or. Look into the Murder, She Wrote Series.
