I’m sure (if you’re in the US) you’ve heard about Luigi Mangione, aka The Adjuster, who killed the UHC CEO. I’d like to read a book about either an individual or group of people carrying out vigilante justice for the good of the people. No graphic novels, please. Fiction or non-fiction welcome.

This post is not intended to be political, please keep it to suggestions only

I respect your request to keep the thread non-political. I would only add for myself that I won’t comment on any book below, other than to say, in each non-fiction book below, the specific person/group at least *thought* their actions were ultimately for the good of the people.

      – **Homegrown: Timothy McVeigh and the Rise of Right-Wing Extremism** by Jeffrey Toobin

      – **Industrial Society and Its Future** by Ted Kaczynski (aka the Unabomber)

      – **Anti-Tech Revolution: Why and How** by Ted Kaczynski

      – **Hunting the Unabomber** by Lis Whiel

      – **Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Mayhem in Northern Ireland** by Patrick Keene

      – **Fascists Among Us: Online Hate and the Christchurch Massacre** by Jeff Sparrow

      – **Manhunt: The Twelve-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer** by James Swanson

These next two are fiction and require just a teeny bit of context:

      – **By Fire: Writings on the Arab Spring** by Tahar Ben Jelloun. A fictional account whose main character is modeled after Mohamed Bouzizi, the very real person widely credited with starting the Arab Spring with his act of self-immolation.

      – **American War** by Omar Al-Akkad. A fictional account of America’s second Civil War, this time over fossil fuels. You won’t be able to make the connection on why this made my list until the end of the novel, but it’s a really good read about the harm we do to one another in the name of Justice.
