Looking for a book that covers 90s and early 00s pop culture.

As someone who grew up during that period, it’d be cool to read a proper history of that period. The cynical and edgy turn that pop culture took with the rise of various genres of angsty rock music, the lauding of the “outsider who doesn’t conform” trope, the rise of shock TV like South Park, Jackass or Celebrity Deathmatch.

I find that era incredibly interesting due to the strange mixture of political and economic optimism with the cynicism and search for authenticity in pop culture.
