I'm disabled and sometimes my brain goes foggy, which leads to me not being able to focus for long times or on anything difficult.
Most adult books are too advanced for me in that state. I can only understand simple, short, clear sentences.
Most times I get told to just read YA or children's books, but I am not a child. I understand difficult themes, just not the language. I am sick of reading about ya and children's themes, it's boring. I want adult literature that I can understand.
My favourite genres are usually fantasy (high fantasy and epic fantasy mainly), sci-fi and non-fiction (mostly and politics), but non-fiction is too difficult for me during brain fog.
Currently I am trying to read lord of the rings, but it's a little difficult to follow. The hobbit was easier.
Any recommendations?

Hi. First, have you tried anything by Dan Brown? The plots are fairly easy to follow and there’s always something to ‘hook’ your attention.
He rightfully gets criticism for over explaining things but he does write some bangers that are enjoyable.
Next up, have you tried Audiobooks? My migraines and Fibro-fog have kinda forced my hand that of if I want to read extensively, it needs to be by ear! Worth considering.
