I just recently read Lord of the Flies and watched The Mist, and I find it enjoyable to look at the circumstances of different characters stuck together (whether it be an island or a supermarket) and how they deal with it along with the dynamics portrayed for specific pairs, especially if their lives are at risk. So if you know any books like that, I'd love to know them.

Station Eleven
Hurricane by John D. MacDonald
Alas Babylon,
Roadside Picnic by Strugatsky,
King Rat by Clavell,
Island in the Sea of time by Sterling, (and sequels),
1632 by Eric Flint (and the early sequels),
Dies the fire by Sterling,
Matterhorn by Karl marlantes (war novel but close enough)
Technically fits your brief but is much more light-hearted:
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
A group of strangers are held hostage in an apartment that was having a ‘house viewing’. It’s kind of comedic so may not be the thrill you’re looking for but it is a wonderful book and brilliantly shows the dynamics of different personalities being stuck in a stressful situation together.
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett is about people in a hostage situation.
If you liked Lord of the Flies, and you‘d like to read books where a group of kids are stuck together, I’d recommend these:
THE MAZE RUNNER by James Dashner
(A boy with amnesia wakes up trapped in a maze.)
THE UNKNOWN by J.W. Lynne
(Eight kidnapped kids wake up trapped in a mysterious prison.)
ALIVE by Scott Sigler
(Teens with amnesia wake up in a strange corridor.)
