I have so many places I want to travel and cultures and lifestyles I want to experience, but my supply of money and time is a limiting factor…
I love watching movies and shows that depict the day-to-day of people with radically different lives than mine. Monks, samurai, sailors, even people with the most boring life ever… In part, thought that my life could be totally different and nothing that my culture says is important necessarily matters is very freeing to me. I also want to better understand people from different walks of life and the common threads between us all.
Anyway I want to read more books so what are some of your favorites that fit in this category? I live in the US btw. Movie recommendations also welcome!
