Looking for a book about US street gangs

I really want to find a book that will educate me on the gang culture in America primarily the influence of the bloods and crips on music culture and everything around it, as i want to know about this and also want to read more books as a hobby. Can anyone help, or is this a knowledge base best learnt via documentaries etc. Thanks
