If you don’t mind horror, I really enjoy Revelator by Daryl Gregory.

I read Bloodroot by Amy Greene a really long time ago. I don’t remember everything about it, but I remember it spanned like 3 generations, there was a bit of folksy magic and superstition in it, and it was extremely depressing and sad.
The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer is a sorta adult Narnia book that starts in WV
Winter’s Bone. Daniel Woodrell. One of my absolute favourite books of all time.
