Bit of an odd request, but basically my friend and I love hate reading the popular romantasy books and just shredding them to bits. (ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, etc). Looking for more suggestions along those lines please and thank you! Ideally standalones, but open to series even though it's unlikely we'll make it past the first one.

I’ll provide an odd response for your odd request, because this isn’t necessarily one of those booktok novels on the level of mega popular cultural phenomena. I DO believe it has seen some time on booktok, but as soon as you read what it’s about, you’ll understand why it could have been viral without necessarily generating millions in sales on the same level as *ACOTAR* and *Fourth Wing*. I’m suggesting it because I feel like you two would have a blast talking about it.

I just read Voyage of the Damned by Frances White. Pretty sure it’s TikTok famous and it had a horny protagonist and some really stupid romance, also magic lol. I hated it, but maybe you’d hate love it
I really wanted to like Five Broken Blades by Mai Corland. The physical book is absolutely beautiful and I like the concepts behind the worldbuilding. But instead, I am recommending it here. Enjoy?
