i know the first thought when thinking of old london is a mystery but i am looking for a fiction book, perhaps even a romance. the vibe i’m looking for is cold, dark streets of london, cobble stones, maybe academia. it doesn’t have to take place a long time ago. I just really like the idea of the setting being rainy, gloomy london. can anyone help?

The Serpent’s Shadow by Mercedes Lackey is one of her Elemental Masters books and is a retelling of Snow White set in 1909 London. It’s not the most excellent book ever, but if you like Mercedes Lackey type fantasy, it does pretty well.
