I'm a 21 year old guy who used to love reading (I'd get told off by teachers for reading too much and not paying attention to class) but stopped reading part way through high school about 6ish years ago.
I used to really enjoy books like Percy Jackson (and the rest of Rick Riordan's work), The Spooks Apprentice, LOTR, Harry Potter and Skulduggery Pleasant. I've been interested recently by the idea of the works of Lovecraft and Kafka but haven't actually started a book yet. I'm open to easier reads and more complex ones but I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. I just know if I get hooked on a good book it'll probably bring me back to reading!
I'd appreciate any suggestions!

“Leviathan Wakes”–JA Corey.
very readable.
I easily finished Vicious by V.E. Schwab and it’s amazing!! There’s (as far as I know) a second book as well if you really get into it. Vicious is on kindle unlimited but not the second one if you read that way
One of my favorites is the summoner series got me back into reading after not reading for 8 yrs the first book is called the novice author is Taran matharu I’m currently reading reading it for the 4th or 5th time
Leviathan Wakes single handedly got me back into reading.
Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer is approachable and like a little Lovecraft intro. Don’t recommend the rest of the series but the first one can stand on its own.
Try Hail Mary by Andy Weir!
Wool- Hugh Howey. The first in the series that Silo is based on.
I would recommend Guards! Guards! By Terry Pratchett. It’s the first book in the Guards storyline of Discworld.
