I don't mean crime books as in books about detectives solving crimes (I already have 4 Sherlock Holmes ebooks on Kindle) I mean crime books about the criminals going on heists. Think Payday 2 or the Grand Theft Auto series.
The Parker series by Richard Stark is exactly what you’re looking for, I started with Nobody Runs Forever and was hooked.

The Joe Kurtz series by Dan Simmons is pretty great; he is one of, if not my very favorite writers and does every genre, even pulp, well.

You could go with the classic Gentleman Burglar Arsene Lupin series – I think I got a huge combo book of them for a few bucks as an ebook online. Some are shorter stories but all very clever heists!

It’s not modern, but The Lies of Locke Lamora is good.
