    Hello all!

My fiance recently gifted me a Kindle for Christmas (after I asked for one since I miss reading, but wanted it more convenient), and I immediately jumped into some great books. The issue though, is that I haven't really read much since high school.

I used to LOVE reading, and still do, but I think after high school, since it wasn't so "easy" to just go grab a book from the school library (and in addition to becoming an adult with normal responsibilities), I pretty much stopped reading. That was around 2025, and now I'm fully back into breaking this Kindle in.

The only issue, is that the only books I really know are geared towards young adults, since that's where I left off. Granted, I was reading Stephen King's "IT", "The Stand", and even "Tommy Knockers" around 10/11 and it really hooked me into the horror genre. But then I started reading stuff like LoTR, Harry Potter, and Eragon, and I just love fantasy/adventure books. The only issue, is that the ones I really know about are geared towards younger people, and I'd love the same types of books, but with more adult themes? I'm okay with just about anything, I don't mind NSFW stuff and that won't bother me. Any recommendations you have would be amazing!

I've already heard great things about stuff like "The First Law" series, "Ranger's Apprentice" series, "The Empyrean" series, and "Songs of Chaos" series. (if you can't tell, I typically LOVE anything with dragons and the typical fantasy races.

As a kid, I loved reading Stephen King, I remember reading Danielle Steel maybe? James Patterson, Harry Potter, LoTR, Eragon (the whole series), the Artemis Fowl books, A Series of Unfortunate Events series, I really loved most of the mythology books (I remember Percy Jackson and also one about Egyptian mythology, which I thought was super cool!).

I'm sorry if this is an information overload, I just figured the more information I can include, the more helpful you guys can be, hopefully some of you guys share my taste in books!

TL;DR: I miss reading a lot and I would love recommendations on new book series, particularly adult fantasy/adventure!

      check out Robin Hobb’s work.

I also really liked the World of 5 Gods

The Locked Tomb series is an odd one. it’s sci fi (i think) but really has a fantasy feel.

You might say the same about Dune. That book is incredible, but a bit further from fantasy

    2. Travis Baldree’s two books (Legends & Lattes and Bookshops & Bonedust) are fun fantasy adventure books for grownups!

Naomi Novik writes beautiful fantasy. Try Spinning Silver and then her other books.

I’ll try to think of others, but those two popped into my head immediately!
