I need suggestions / advice to return to reading (honestly, it's been a while since I have engaged with any hobby after burn out with stuff). I have like lots of books in my shelves but I honestly can't get past than a chapter 🫠🫠

What are the books you have finished and enjoyed? What’s on your shelves that you aren’t interested in? Books are like music-many different types and lengths, just depends on your tastes.

I’m like this. Do you have any books you know you love that are due for a reread? I always end up rereading one of the Hunger Games books because they’re easy but engaging.

    3. I went through a phase where I stopped reading for a while. I had loads of books that I wanted to read but every time I thought about actually doing it, I felt like I couldn’t be bothered.
I’ve started trying to read one chapter a night before bed now and I’m slowly getting back into it.

Honestly, diminish or cut out social media. The more I’m on my phone, the less I read.

    5. Go to your local library. Browse their displays. Look to see if they have themed lists on their website. Ask for recommendations. Take home an armload of books. If they don’t suit, return them to the library and take out another armful. Repeat until you get an idea of the type of books you like.

    6. My phone ruined my attention span so I had to start at the beginning.

I had to delete all the social media apps off my phone for awhile. When I wanted to read, I had to just turn my phone off and leave it in the other room.

I started reading in small chunks of time. 10 min here, 10 min there, throughout the day, then worked up to longer times.

I’ll give a book 50 pages, if I’m not feeling it, I try something else. I rarely give up on a book entirely but I’m not going to force myself to read something I’m not in the mood for

Took a few months but I can now happily and comfortably read for 3-4 hours at a time. I still stay off social media though because I notice an almost immediate tank in my attention span as soon as I use it.
