I (30M) am a newer reader. I have been wanting to get into reading books for a while now, and I am hopefully getting started. I went to my local library, got my card, and checked out my first book.
I have been recommended two series by friends. The first series recommended to me is the "Saxon Stories" book series by Bernard Cornwell. I actually picked The Last Kingdom book up today. The other series is the Gone book series by Michael Grant.
I am open to all recommendations. The main genres that interest me are fantasy, sci-fi, and historical novels.
Thanks in advance ☺️

Old Man’s War series by John Scalzi (Sci-fi)
This is me suggesting:
—The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. (The spooky stuff police in London, delightful series)
—the Murderbot Diaries (sci fi, a depressed robot/human hybrid breaks his governor module so he can watch media)
—Newsflesh series by Mira Grant (zombies and bloggers)
—the Parable of the Sower (bummer dystopian series)
