Some favorites are Joe Abercrombie's books (Sand Dan Glokta) and the Vorkosigan books.

I'd prefer physical illnesses and injuries which do not recover. I don't really like YA or romance if it's sappy.

    Thanks!!

    1. Do you like mysteries or thrillers? John Lescroart’s protagonist is a detective, Lincoln Rhyme, who is paralyzed from the neck down. And they are real page-turners!

not published yet, but I am in the process of writing an adult romance novel with a chronically ill protagonist (she suffers from POTS, MCAS, and hEDS). I am looking for beta readers, if you (or anyone else on this thread) are interested! 🙂 send me a DM if you are!

Sick Kids In Love by Hannah Moskowitz (tagline: “they don’t die in this one!”)

Among Others by Jo Walton (main character was left with permanent pain and disability after being hit by a car)
