Book recommendations for someone who doesn’t read much

I want to gift a book to my friend who doesn’t read much / at all for fun. I am thinking of romance (not sexual though) or mystery. I think she’d like modern books better. Fantasy is also on the table. Preferably not about illness or anything sad like that. Thank you so much!
