suggest me a book about violence

i’ve recently enjoyed fernanda melchor’s books (paradais, hurricane season) and i’m looking for books that explore similar themes or have similar tones. i’m not looking for splatterpunk books or books that include violence for violence’s sake; i don’t mind things that are graphic but i’m really looking for books \*about\* violence and what it means, particularly if it intersects with gender.

i’ve also enjoyed boy parts by eliza clark and the art of cruelty by maggie nelson (which is non-fiction, so i’ll take those recs too!). we need to talk about kevin would probably qualify too.
