Book recommendations I can gift my mother for Christmas?

She read a lot as a child so I’m hesitant to get anything that was written prior to 2000 (she hasn’t picked up a book since having kids). I know that she watches a lot of romance/drama shows on Netflix, and that she hates fantasy and horror. I’m thinking something in the same genre as Anne of green gables/little women but written more recently. Preferably doesn’t have a film adaptation because she’d probably just watch that, but if it does that’s fine😂
