He was a voracious reader as a child. He’s currently a computer science student and is a smart jock who played football and throws discus in college. Hoping to get him some books for Christmas.
My mom gave him Fourth Wing a couple years ago and he destroyed it in a couple of days. I’m open to fiction and non-fiction. He’s always seemed to like sagas with a lot of world building.

The Wandering Inn Pirate Aba
Ilona Andrews any of their series,
Neal Stephenson. For something serious, give him either *Anathem* or *Cryptonomicon*. For something funny (but still interesting) and wild fun, give him *Snow Crash*.
* The Assassin’s Apprentice series — really great saga with incredible world building and characters. It’s actually a 17 book series — four trilogies and one quartet all in the same world.
* Project Hail Mary. Stand alone sci fi book that everyone loves.
* Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (with the caveat that he hasn’t finished the series and maybe never will)
* Dungeon Crawler Carl. Way better than it has any right to be, people love this series.
Needful Things by Stephen King.
Red Rising series
The Wandering Inn is online, but it would take him a while to read it and it’s good.
Some of Brandon Sanderson’s books would work, too. Warbreaker, Mistborn, Elantris, The Way of Kings.
