It’s the first in my favorite series even as an adult, and I don’t remember there being any deaths in it. (There is a death in the fourth book— it’s actually a murder mystery— but the death happens to a character we’ve only met shortly before. And I think we hear about deaths in some of the other books, but I don’t think anyone else we actually meet in the story dies.)
