Before the Coffee Gets Cold (Toshikazu Kawaguchi), gentle, sweet, very easy to get through.
Cupcake Crime at Maplewood Bakery, not a short story collection, but it’s a super quick cozy mystery that reads like a light pick-me-up. I breezed through it in one sitting.
The Secret Lives of Church Ladies (Deesha Philyaw), funny, warm, emotional short stories.
Exhalation (Ted Chiang), not heavy, just imaginative and satisfying in small bursts.
All of them are great palate cleansers in opinion.

What you are looking for is in the library by Michiko Aoyama. I cannot recommend this book enough for its wholesome and hopeful stories.
If you want a good laugh, try the short story [A Notable King](https://short-edition.com/en/story/childrens/a-notable-king)
