Hey. Would like to learn more about the korean culture where half my family is from. In my country where I live we have some national novels that are considered classics, written throughout the country’s history. I love books that dwelve deep into the realities of life, psychologies of people and situations, and in general shows relatable sides of life. Also love books showing historical/cultural themes with an accurate, lively depiction. Any recommendations on classic, korean novels, if there are any that can be put alongside some of the great novels of the world?

U would love “홍학의 자리“.
The Korean writer Han Kang won the nobel prize in literature last year. Her novel that I think got the most buzz was ‘The Vegetarian’
