Book suggestions? Thought-provoking books that will question identity, belief, and political stance.

Hi! Can anyone of you suggest good books? I meant from easy to hard to read books. I've recently started reading The Idiot by Fyodor, yet it's hard to transistion from reading almost all-romance books to something much more inquisitive and thought-provoking. Still, I don't mind the change of pace, it's just that, the vocabulary and writing style is very different from what I've used to read.

I'm open to reading any kinds of book! Feel free to drop your suggestions! Also, I'd love to know how you guys transistioned from reading modern books to classics. Thank you so much!
