I only like murder, mysteries, crimes, etc. I have tried reading ACOTAR and hated it. Mermaid books? Hate them. Anything sci-fi I hate EXCEPT the one book I quickly fell in love with was The House in the Cerulean Sea. LOVE IT!!! Any recs on books like this?

We Solve Murders by Richard Osman is a funny, light-hearted mystery novel.
Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum books – a former lingerie buyer blackmails her cousin into giving her a job as a bounty hunter. They’re very funny
Anne George’s Southern Sister Mysteries – a retired school teacher and her widowed sister solve murders. Also very funny
TJ Klune has a few more books you might like!! Would you try romance? I loved Just for the Summer by Abby Jiminez.
This book isn’t “feel good” but it is cosy amidst its darkness. It’s The Invisible Life of Addie Larue.
My favourite feel good book is “The Reading List” by Sara Nisha Adams
I’d look in the direction of Carl Hiaasen! *Bad Monkey* is a classic starting point, but it’s hard to really go wrong anywhere. Murder and mystery vibes, but with a generally funny and playful/whimsical tone.
Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles –A magic Inn, space werewolves and vampires, a lot of really unique aliens, mystery, romance, action, a fun and humorous series
Jana DeLeon Miss Fortune series and Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich are both laugh out loud light mysteries.
– We Solve Murders by Richard Osman
– Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Ben Stevenson
– Kala by Colin Walsh
– Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent
