by new reader I mean I havent read since uni!
For context I am a 35 year old female from the UK.I am a mum of 3 young kids and I just started reading again as an adult.
Last week I read the housemaid and the housemaids secret ,Im now looking for something else to read.
I honestly have no preference whatsoever and will try anything.I enjoyed those two books but found them a bit predictable and didnt require much thought on my part .I finished them in 2 days so something that takes a little longer would be great.I would love to hear any personal reccomendations.

The Mars Room and Flamethrowers by Rachel Kushner. A bit more “literary” but I like her voice and humour.
Furiously Happy
Try Joyland by Stephen King. Small book (by King standards), a nifty little supernatural mystery and some interesting characters. You will end the book with a lump in your throat.
The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley
