I love Catcher in The Rye, and I also love books about like the highschool expierence or just teenager its interesting and relatble. And i love the narration. Plz nothing too corny and cliche though i hate stuff with like where they try to format the book like theyre texting or smth😠any of that stuff no, like no unnecessary drama stuff, more like main character based, preferably a male main character since its more relatble. Thankss!

Crying in H Mart? Edit to say, didn’t see the preference for male character. Still a good book though..
*Jack* by A.M. Homes. Her first novel, written when she was 19 years old, and very heavily influenced by J.D. Salinger and *Catcher in the Rye*.
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie has a fun high school, male narrator. Not as angsty as Catcher in the Rye. The narrator wants to be a cartoonist, so there are a few cartoon style illustrations.
The Outsiders by SE Hinton. Lots of teenage angst.
