A pop world history with short chapters that might interest teens

Any suggestions for a book with relatively short chapters or sections on world history (a more specific, regional or era-based focus would be great too!) that might be engaging enough for teens?

I would like to round out my own kids’ history education and possibly use it in my writing classes.
