I’m looking to dip my toes into the world of Brandon Sanderson but I don’t know where to start. Ideally I don’t want to commit to a huge series just yet but I know he has a lot of those. Any reccs for a first book to start off with?

Mostborn is a great book. It’s part of a trilogy that can be a good intro to his Cosmere, but it can also serve as a standalone story. It’s a book I’ve recommended plenty of times and they all love it!
*Elantris* is his first published book and would be a good introduction.

The Emperor’s Soul is early enough that you’re not expected to know about the rest of the Cosmere, late enough that his writing style is established, and not a thousand pages.
