My very active 89-year-old grandma recently lost her mobility due to severe arthritis in her back. She is devastated and BORED. I’m looking for some book recommendations for her that are not a huge challenge (although she’s very intelligent), not depressing, no murder, and not political. She likes authors like Mary Huggins Clark and Danielle Steele but I’m hoping to get her something completely different.
Any suggestions??

Has she read any of the Number One Ladies’ Detective Agency books yet? They’re great. I feel like the series doesn’t really get started until the second book (Morality for Beautiful Girls), so you might want to start her there.
