I am looking for books that would make me cry even as someone whos not every empathetic.
I have not much words in this. I am currently reading Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy and i am on the one hundreth page and it hasnt hit me so far. So id like a more depressing book after i finish Jude. Preferably long, no trauma porn, and preferably fiction.

Regarding Jude, just wait.
Though not quite fiction, you may ‘enjoy’ Thomas Ligotti- The Conspiracy Against the Human Race, and also his (having realized it while typing) fictional work My Work is not Yet Done.

Possibly the Grapes of Wrath? The style isn’t particularly empathetic but it’s just so bleak. It will at least astound you I think
