hello, im looking for any books which have an offbeat vibe to them. something that deeply intrigues a person, but also something which has them questioning things. for reference, i mostly read Dostoyevsky, Camus, Steinbeck, Kafka, Anais Nin, Leopold von Sacher Masoch, etc. fictional works are preferred although i can stomach non-fiction. reference to the occult is a bonus, as well as banned books. they need to be old books, preferably pre-1970s. thank you!

I think you might like _The Master and Margarita_ by Mikhail Bulgakov might tickle your fancy here!

It was written as a satire of the Soviet Union told by way of Faust in which the devil shows up in the USSR and… well… it’s a strange book but delightfully so!

    2. Check out the stories of Arthur Machen. He was a Welsh mystic who wrote in the 1890s, and a huge influence on Lovecraft.
