Hi! I am looking for non fiction book recommendations for my step dad for Christmas! He is a chemical engineer, loves sports, specifically football. He is someone who knows a little about everything, and he will be happy with just about anything you get him. I am a fantasy/fiction reader so this is really out of my realm.

Bill Bryson – A short history of nearly everything
Gridiron Genius by Michael Lombardi, it’s about how NFL teams really win championships, focusing on smart decision-making, leadership, and building a winning culture.
Say Nothing by Patrick Raddon Keefe – The Troubles in Northern Ireland
The Gales of November – The Untold Story of the Edmund Fitzgerald by John U. Bacon
Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing
I think I probably have similar tastes. A couple I have read recently which I really enjoyed are Chip Wars by Chris Miller and The Material World: The Six Raw Materials that Shape Civilization by Ed Conway.
SHADOW DIVERS!
If he’s willing to make a big commitment the LBJ books by Robert Caro are absolutely amazing. Say nothing and empire of pain by Patrick Radden Keefe are also both very good.
