Idiot Detective

There’s always a scene where the detective gathers everyone and explains the who/why/how/etc.

I’m was thinking it would be fun if the detective does this near the beginning of the book and everyone thinks they are brilliant. Unfortunately they are very wrong and the detective has accused an innocent person. The rest of the book would have to be someone else figuring out what really happened.

Any recommendations for something like this? Thanks!
