Senior in high school should be able to read anything but a classic Agatha Christie The Murder of Roger Ackroyd would be a great one. The shadow of the wind by zafon would be great, its got lots of mystery vibes but is not quite one

I really enjoyed The Body in the Garden by Katharine Schellman. It’s a regency murder mystery.
Good young adult mysteries include Gideon in Black and White by Katie Henry, Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson, and Sadie by Courtney Summers (which veers closer to thriller territory)
