The title sums up what my favorite books are about and what I'm looking for more of.
My challenges are (a) I feel like I've read most of the titles already; (b) so many books in this subgenre about people committing fraud which gets old after a while and is also frankly stressful to me as a business guy myself; and (c) I need a page-turner because if I find a book mediocre I'll just stop reading or hate that I'm slogging through it.
Examples of what I've read, along with my GoodReads rankings, if this is helpful context, or if others find this thread who are searching along the same lines (e.g., 3 = 3/5 stars):
American Kingpin (5)
Bad Blood (4)
The Big Short (5)
Billion Dollar Whale (5)
Blood and Oil (4)
Boomerang (3)
Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist (5)
The Coming Storm (4)
Flash Boys (5)
Going Infinite (5)
The Key Man (3)
Liar's Poker (5)
Monkey Business (4)
Red Notice (5)
Steve Jobs (5)
That Will Never Work (3)
Too Big to Fail (4)
When Genius Failed (4)
I think entrepreneurial/business non-fiction falls under a larger umbrella I would call "aspirational nonfiction" (not sure if that's a real thing, but it makes sense to me). So I've also read a lot of that – Endurance, Into Thin Air, The Wager, etc – along with a lot of the other page-turning narrative nonfiction often suggested here – Dead Wake, Hot Zone, Say Nothing, etc… I just don't want anyone thinking I don't search before I post!
Thank you all in advance for your recommendations…
