hi everyone. is there a book you'd recommend that features a mystery that the MC thinks isn't solved? maybe it's in a small town and mc sets to figure out what really happened. then he finds clues and things that he'd piece together.
the mystery could be something old and the authorities have left it. or a new mystery, like a series of deaths or disappearances or something, this can add a thrill because the murderer could want to silence them before they get to the truth.
like a good girl's guide to murder.
i don't want the mystery to be paranormal. and something without romance, please. thanks!

Check out “The Thursday Murder Club” by Richard Osman – it’s about retired folks in a nursing home who investigate cold cases. No romance subplot and the mysteries are really well crafted
Also “In the Woods” by Tana French might hit the spot, it’s about a detective investigating a child’s murder that connects to his own mysterious childhood trauma
