Has anyone heard of a book where they have cloned “cavemen”? Of course they wouldn’t known anything about what it was like back then. I’m imagining something that would turn into a prequel to The Planet of the Apes
Sounds like you’re thinking of something similar to *Reborn* by Robert J. Sawyer – he cloned a Neanderthal and explored how they’d adapt to modern society. Not exactly cavemen but close enough and deals with that whole “fish out of water” thing you’re describing

I looked up the author and he looks interesting, especially The Neanderthal Parallax trilogy. I couldn’t find a reference to Reborn. Are you sure of the title / author? Either way, thanks for the lead!
